2022 Recipient – Damien Morris Award for Industry Excellence

Dear Members,

Thank you to all who attended the ACLCA Christmas Party on 1 December 2022 where the Damien Morris Award for Industry Excellence was awarded. Even though the weather was not favourable, it was a fantastic evening that presented an opportunity to wind down and relax.

This, was the second year that we celebrated the career and achievements of the late Damien Morris.  Damien holds a special place in our industry here in QLD, not only as a respected practitioner and Auditor but also as our former ACLCA president and committed mentor to early career professionals (ECPs).  Sadly we lost Damien in 2020 and he has been greatly missed since then.

In honour of Damien’s legacy ACLCA Qld and GHD now sponsor the Damien Morris Award for Industry Excellence.

This award carries a substantial prize and is intended to support the career development of the ECP that wins the award.

This year we were excited to receive 11 ECP nominations.

Whilst there is only one winner, ACLCA would like to congratulate all nominees and acknowledge the extremely high standard of the submissions.

Damien would have been proud of the nominated cohort as they are a demonstration of our industry’s future leaders.

Nominees included:

  • Allana Ralph – PSK Environmental
  • Camden McCosker – Epic Environmental
  • Claudia Camedda – WSP
  • Danielle Townsend – Construction Sciences
  • Devon Hamley – Jacobs
  • Hailey Martin – SLR Consulting
  • Hannah Bennett – GHD
  • Jo Lavers – GHD
  • Lucy Muir – AECOM
  • Michael Kowalczyk – Epic Environmental
  • Tegan Jarvis  – Core Consultants

Judging was very difficult due to the standard of the submissions and we thanks all the judges for their efforts in making this difficult decision.

ACLCA extend our congratulations to Allana Ralph of PSK Environmental as the 2022 recipient of the Damien Morris Award for Industry Excellence.  The award was presented by Helen Jones, ACLCA Qld President and Roz Bird of GHD. ACLCA also thank GHD for their continued support of the Damien Morris Award.

The judging panel noted that Allana’s nomination demonstrated strong enthusiasm and energy for the Contaminated Land Management Industry including involvement and attendance at many ACLCA and industry related events and training. Congratulations Allana !.
