2023 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Modules

One of the core values and aims of ACLCA is to provide relevant, topical and up-to-date training and professional development to its members, so that individuals within member companies can and will maintain and improve the technical and professional standards and skills of member companies.

ACLCA Qld are running foundation training in 2023 – 2024 on Environmental Site Assessment geared towards graduates and new entries into the industry and CPD Module Workshops targeted to more experience practitioners.

ACLCA is confident that the training covers all major aspects of the contaminated land practice at a level of detail as identified in each module, suitable for practitioners new to the field or refresher for more experience practitioners.

The modules currently include the following topics and are presented by highly experienced practitioners in the field.

Where possible the workshops will be held online and in person.


Module 1: Phase 1 Introduction to Environmental Site Assessments -2nd March 2023. Caitriona Coyle (WSP).

Module 2a: Phase 2 Sampling, Analysis and Quality Plan -30 March 2023. Luke Amies (Epic Environmental).

Module 2b: Field Investigations –4th May 2023. Ben Lumsden (Jacobs).

Module 3a: Phase 2 Site Assessments (Interpretation and Reporting) –25th May 2023 (Georgina Kerr and Ryan Stewart (Aurecon).

Module 5: Analytical Chemistry – Ben Freidman. Workshop date pending

Module 4: Fill Logging –27th July 2023. Louise Cartwright (Epic Environmental) and Kylie Hailes (JBS&G).

Module 3b: CSM and DQOs aspects of the design process – 24th August 2023. Marc Salmon (Easterly Point).

Module 6: Module 6: Risk Assessment – 28th September 2023 Mark Stuckey (Environmental Earth Sciences).

Module 7: Contaminated Land Auditing – 26th October 2023 Brad May (Epic Environmental).

Module 8: Remediation – 30th November 2023 Andrew Thomas (GHD)
