We are running our annual Report Writing Workshop presented by Amy Valentine (WSP) on Friday 24th May 2024.
Our course presenter, Amy Valentine is a Principal Engineer at WSP. A Civil and Environmental Engineering graduate of the University of California (Davis), Amy has over 19 years experience in contamination assessment, site remediation and project management in Australia and USA. Amy is a certified practitioner (site contamination specialisation) with EIANZ and serves on the Specialist Environmental Advisory Committee (SEAC) for the site contamination specialisation. She was awarded the 2020 Certified Environmental Practitioner Scheme Service Award during the EIANZ Virtual Annual Conference.
This half-day workshop aims to strengthen the writing skills of consultants working in contaminated land management. The course will include writing basics and theory as well as practical worked examples of clear and effective writing.
Course Materials: Attendees will be issued with a digital booklet of the training presentation including some writing exercises and a copy of the NSW EPA (2020) Consultant Reporting on Contaminated Land reporting checklists.
The course content assumes each attendee has functional English language skills. Attendees may bring a laptop to take notes but it is preferable to complete the writing exercises on paper. Pens and paper will be provided.
