The Continuing Professional Development Subcommittee (CPDSc) is currently running Round 4 of the general mentoring program and is now introducing a dedicated Early Career Professional (ECP) Mentoring Program. This initiative is designed to support members with less than 7 years of experience, particularly those with under 3 years in the industry, who may lack clarity around certification pathways (CSAM or CEnvP).
A recent ECP Survey highlighted:
- Strong interest in ECP mentoring.
- A gap in awareness of certification requirements among newer ECPs.
- General mentoring is most beneficial for mentees within 12 months of applying for certification.
In response, the CPDSc has refined the ECP mentoring structure to focus on:
- Raising awareness of certification pathways.
- Supporting mentees in identifying their strengths and areas for development.
- Allowing flexibility for mentor-mentee pairs to shape their engagement.
Members are invited to participate as a mentor in ACLCA’s newly launched ECP Mentoring Program.
Pairings will be based on alignment with mentee goals and areas of interest in contaminated land management.
Please submit your expressed mentoring interest to Jennifer qld@aclca.com.au by 30th October 2025
Mentor contributions are invaluable in helping shape the next generation of environmental professionals.
