This ACLCA Remediation Sub-Committee Panel Discussion will include the perspectives of various contaminated land industry representatives in relation to the preparation, implementation, and closure of Clean Up Plans in Victoria.

Please join us in person at Tonkin + Taylor for drinks and nibbles between 5:30-6pm followed by the presentation from 6:00-7:00pm.

Some of the topics to be covered include:

  • What are the triggers for commencing a Clean Up Plan process
  • Who should be involved in the preparation process
  • What should be included in a Clean Up Plan
  • CUSFARP – What it is (…and what it isn’t!)
  • What do we do next?
  • Forthcoming EPA guidance

Questions and curve balls alike are welcome at this last ACLCA sub-committee member presentation for 2024!

PRESENTERS:

  • Ian Brookman (Chief Executive Officer, Environmental Earth Sciences International) will be acting as the host and moderator of the session, guiding us through a ‘Hypothetical’ Clean Up Plan preparation process with the assistance of the other panellists.
  •  Kristin Wasley (Manager, Environmental Audit) and Julia Caluzzi (Senior Field Specialist – Contaminated Land) of EPA Victoria will offer a regulatory perspective to the process.
  •  Peter Mirkov (Managing Director & Senior Principal, Peraco) will be offering an Environmental Auditor’s perspective on the requirements for preparing, verifying, and closing out Clean Up Plans in accordance with the 2017 Act and related guidance.
  • James Wardle (Operations Manager, Ventia) will provide a Remediation Contractor’s perspective, from the consideration and use of Clean Up Plans in the remediation works tendering process, as well as how they are used to inform the remediation process all the way to practical completion.
  • Lyndon Bell (Senior Principal, JBS&G) and Andrew Labbett (Principal Remediation Engineer, Renewal EC) will also assist with some general Remediation Consultant inputs from the floor!
