This event is open to ACLCA members only. Register now to avoid missing out – spaces are strictly limited and fill up extremely quickly.
Who should attend:
This module will target recent graduates and professionals new to the contaminated land industry.
Objective:
The objective of this module is to provide an updated and overall introduction to the key elements of Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), being Preliminary Site Investigations (PSIs) and Detailed Site Investigations (DSIs), with an overview of key field sampling techniques.
Format:
We have adopted a one-day format which offers attendees the opportunity to cover a broad range of key introductory topics, in an accessible single day package (limiting time away from your chargeable work!). Where demand exists for further focus on a given topic, consideration will be given to altering the module format or delivering a special member event.
At the end of the session your staff should:
- Gain an understanding of the importance of a desktop PSI, the range of information available and review methods, and how to apply this to develop an understanding of site history, potential contamination sources and presence of contamination at a site.
- Understand the key aspects of the methodology for obtaining relevant, reliable soil, soil vapour and groundwater samples, including Quality Assurance and Quality Control requirements.
- Obtain a functional overview of the ESA process including relevant reference documents/guidelines, ESA data quality validation, assessing the soil, soil vapour & groundwater results, developing site conceptual models, reporting and risk assessment.
The full day course will include presentations, course material as well as a number of practical exercises and direct examples. We will provide two short breaks and one lunch break throughout the day. The course is condensed and detailed so please come along ready to learn and make the most out of it!
Booking cancelations require a minimum notice of three business days for full refund.
