ACLCA SA INVITE ALL ACLCA STATE CHAPTER MEMBERS to attend the ONLINE presentation,
Topic: Using Geochemical modelling to refine and inform Conceptual Site Models
Presented by: Dana Windle, Technical Director – Hydrogeology (ERM Victoria)
Synopsis: A Conceptual Site Model (CSM) is a key input to development and construction of a numerical groundwater model. Conversely, outputs and scenarios from a numerical groundwater model often inform and assist to refine the CSM. The same dynamic and relationship exists between CSMs and geochemical models, meaning that geochemical models are an additional tool that can be used to refine and inform CSMs. This session will present case studies of both simple and more complex geochemical models, and how the models have been used to refine and inform the CSM in each case.
Presenter’s Bio: Dana has more than 15 years’ experience as a hydrogeologist in the environmental consulting industry, with her core areas of technical expertise including CSM development, fate and transport and geochemical modelling, usually focused on assessment and remediation of contaminated groundwater. Her passion is combining physical and geochemical information to enhance CSMs. Dana is a Certified Environmental Practitioner (Site Contamination) and has recently been appointed by EPA Victoria as an Environmental Auditor (Contaminated Land)
Time: Date: 12:00 pm for 12:30pm start – until 1:30pm approx. **(SA time) Thursday 25 September 2025
