One of the core values and aims of ACLCA is to provide relevant, topical and up-to-date training and professional development to its members, so that individuals within member companies can and will maintain and improve the technical and professional standards and skills of member companies. ACLCA Qld are running foundation training in 2025 on Environmental Site Assessment geared towards graduates and new entries into the industry and CPD Module Workshops targeted to more experience practitioners.

ACLCA is confident that the training covers all major aspects of the contaminated land practice at a level of detail as identified in each module, suitable for practitioners new to the field or refresher for more experience practitioners.

Who should attend: This module will target recent graduates and professionals new to the contaminated land industry or those looking for a refresher.

Objective – provide an overview and worked examples of the development CSMs and DQOs in the assessment of site contamination (ASC).

Learning outcomes will include:

  • Systematic planning using the environmental data life-cycle (EDLC) process;
  • The development and importance of CSMs;
  • The development and importance of DQOs; and
  • Applied statistics for contaminated land.

Presenter: Marc Salmon Principal Environmental Scientist Easterly Point Environmental Pty Ltd

Accredited Site Auditor (NSW) Contaminated Land Auditor (Qld) MEIANZ, CEnvP SCS, MARPS

Marc is a principal environmental scientist and contaminated land auditor in New South Wales and Queensland and has been auditing since 2001. He has worked extensively in the assessment and management of contaminated sites in Australia, USA and Asian, including conducting environmental investigations of soils, sediments, surface water, groundwater, air quality and radiation. His professional interests include amongst others, experiment design through the use of the data quality objectives (DQOs) planning process, for which he lectures at the UTS CSARM short course, the use of statistics in environmental assessment, and the assessment and management of enhanced natural occurring radioactive materials.
