Jenna Bligh – JBS&G
Hi! My name is Jenna Bligh. As an early-career professional, working as a Project Scientist at JBS&G brings a dynamic mix of hands-on work and technical tasks. While not every day is as busy as this one, here’s a snapshot of my day on the 13th of February 2025.
My morning began with fieldwork, where I was out on-site collecting soil samples. I spent some time chatting with the construction team and, digging a few holes to gather the samples. After enduring a bit of rain and then basking in the sun, I made sure that each sample was safely delivered to the lab for analysis.
Back at the office, I debriefed with the project manager, reviewing the morning’s activities and uploading my field notes and photos. I then shifted gears to focus on report writing for other ongoing projects. After that, I joined the contaminated land team for our weekly meeting to catch up on the latest developments.
By the end of the day, I was headed to the airport for a flight to Sydney, eager for a training day with fellow early career professionals the next morning. It was one of those days that had a little bit of everything: hands-on fieldwork, team collaboration, and a mix of indoor and outdoor tasks—just how I like it!
